Day 4

Posted: June 5, 2012 in Bike Ride Across America 2012

We woke up this morning to the same cold rain we endured all through yesterday. At about noon I put on my wet cycling shoes and took advantage of a break in the weather. A strong tailwind blew me out of Winthrop toward Loup Loup Pass (elevation 4020 feet). During my long coast down the other side of the pass it began to rain again, although not as hard as yesterday. I only cycled 54 miles today, but we found a nice RV park in Omak, WA and the evening has been dry. Hoping for more time on the road tomorrow, as the weather forecast is predicting that it will be the only dry day for a while.

(Tonight is the first time we’ve had cell phone and WiFi capability for a while and it looks spotty in the days ahead, so a number of daily updates may all come at once.)

Sounds like you have had quite the experience already. You’ve been tested, but you’ve also shown that you can overcome the challenges, while meeting some interesting people along the way. Saying a prayer for you this morning as you start your day.

  2. Just keep pedaling, just keep pedaling…… 🙂 Praying you east!
